Itinerary UPPER CLACKAMAS FLATWATER
North Fork Reservoir –Promontory Park
The park has a barrier-free fishing area and the park store offers groceries, ice, fishing tackle, boat rental, fuel and more. There is no speed limit on most of the reservoir, but the upper end has an enforced limit of 10 miles per hour. Small Fry Lake was developed exclusively for young anglers. Kids up to 17 years old can fish for two trout per day on this pond stocked in early summer.
Estacada Lake – Timber Park
Timber Park is along Estacada Lake above River Mill Dam. The shoreline is open seasonally for fishing and paddling. It has a fishing dock with a swim ladder. Access closes from October 16 to April 30 and during high water events.
Estacada Lake-McIver Park
At the far southeast end of the park, River Mill Dam creates tranquil Estacada Lake. Access is easy from the boat ramp, the kayak launch and the fishing dock. River lovers can challenge the sometimes wild (but always picturesque) Clackamas River with rafts, canoes or kayaks. For fishing enthusiasts, Estacada Lake offers a boat ramp and an ADA fishing dock, and the Clackamas River has steelhead and Chinook runs.
Fishing for steelhead, Chinook salmon and cutthroat and rainbow trout is excellent in the Clackamas River and Estacada Lake. Anglers can cast their line from their boat, from the shore, or from an easily accessible fishing dock at the lake.
SUP and Kayak Rentals – Rentals and guided tours are offered by Clackamas River Outfitters at Estacada Lake through contract with Oregon State Parks. Information: 503-586-3241 or clackamasriveroutfitters.com
