PARTNERSHIPS Clackamas Water Trail
The Clackamas Water Trail Project was supported through a both a Mt. Hood Tourism Strategic Investment grant and a State Drinking Water Source Protection grant administered by Business Oregon. The purpose of this project is to highlight river recreation access points along the Clackamas River, local amenities, and known river conditions and hazards. It will also differentiate private and public property, and sensitive fish habitat areas that are not to be disturbed, as well as include information on how to be good river stewards and the importance of protecting the drinking water source for over 300,000 people in Clackamas and Washington Counties.
This webpage allows our community to find up-to-date information that will help citizens from all backgrounds to better access the Clackamas River. Clarification of ADA and other accessibility information will be strengthened. The project will also highlight the user diversity that occurs on the river through representative images and storytelling on the website.
Through this partnership we are committed to low-impact recreation along the Lower Clackamas River while being protective of the river as a drinking water source and being home to a number of threatened and engaged fish species.
